The student-led “Students in Blockade” protest began today at Šabac’s Trg šabačkih žrtava at 11:52 AM with a 16-minute tribute to the victims of the recent tragic collapse of the shelter roof at the Novi Sad railway station.

As the day unfolded, solidarity rolled in — literally. Cyclists from Loznica, Sremska Mitrovica, Novi Sad, and Belgrade joined the demonstration, along with a group of marathon runners who arrived from the capital around 5 PM, according to N1.

The protest, themed “Shall We Go to Šabac for the Protest? We Shall!”, continues throughout the evening. War veterans are scheduled to lay wreaths at the WWII memorial at the same square, followed by a concert at 6:30 PM.

The night will close with another solemn tribute to the Novi Sad victims, taking place from 11:52 PM to 12:08 AM.

Yesterday, the first wave of demonstrators arrived on foot from Bogatić and Loznica, as well as by bicycle from Valjevo, reflecting the growing momentum of decentralized protests across Serbia.
