Former Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha is set to appear before SPAK tomorrow for the third time regarding the privatization of the Partizani sports club in Tirana.
Berisha is scheduled to visit the Special Anti-Corruption Structure (SPAK) at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, following a court order requiring his appearance. Unlike previous interrogations, this time, he will attend under the terms of a judicial ruling that imposed a “mandatory appearance” measure on him.
Appeal Court Decision
The Special Court of Appeal Against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO) recently reviewed SPAK’s request to reinstate house arrest for Berisha. However, the court upheld the mandatory appearance measure, obligating the Democratic Party leader to report to judicial police twice a month—on the first and last Monday of each month.
Key Decision on Partizani Case
Tomorrow’s session could prove pivotal as Berisha awaits the prosecution’s decision on whether the Partizani case will proceed to trial.
This development marks a critical moment for Berisha, as the case could significantly impact his political legacy and ongoing involvement in Albania’s political landscape.
