Aleksandar Vulin, Serbia’s Deputy Prime Minister, stated that Serbia is on the path of integration into the European Union, but does not decide its pace.

“If the path ahead involves recognizing Kosovo, obligations to facilitate same-sex marriages, or participation in conflicts with Russia and China, then we shouldn’t go down that road,” Vulin said in an interview with Večernje Novosti.

He emphasized that “until they tell us this, we should stick to our military neutrality, reforms that suit us, and strive to strengthen Serbia in the future.”

When asked if Serbia’s purchase of French Rafale jets represents the biggest shift towards the West so far, Vulin said it was a pragmatic, not a political decision, and that Serbia will defend its skies with “Rafales” and “Mig-29s.”

He mentioned that during his last meeting in Russia, President Vladimir Putin did not mention “Rafales,” but discussed trade exchanges, the gas agreement, and Russia’s support for every Serbian war, as reported by Danas.

Vulin, who is on the US sanctions list, visited Russia last month.
