The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has officially welcomed Syria’s recognition of the Republic of Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state, calling it a “historic decision that will strengthen bilateral cooperation and contribute to peace and stability.”
The announcement followed a trilateral meeting in Riyadh between Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani, and Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa.
Shortly after the meeting, Syria formally declared its recognition of Kosovo’s independence, marking a significant diplomatic breakthrough for Prishtina.
“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia welcomes this historic decision by the Syrian government,” the Saudi statement read, emphasizing that “the recognition of Kosovo will strengthen bilateral cooperation and contribute to peace, stability, and prosperity for both peoples.”
Saudi Arabia also reaffirmed its commitment to promoting dialogue, international cooperation, and shared progress across the world, underlining its ongoing role as a bridge-builder in global diplomacy.
