Saudi Arabia’s Defense Minister, Khalid bin Salman, visited Tehran in April and delivered a clear message to Iranian officials: seriously consider President Donald Trump’s offer to negotiate a nuclear agreement, as this is the path to avoid the risk of conflict with Israel, reports Rks News.
The meeting took place on April 17 at the presidential complex with the participation of senior Iranian figures, including President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi. The Saudi minister warned that the U.S. offer calls for a swift agreement, and the opportunity for a diplomatic resolution will close if talks are delayed.
Khalid bin Salman emphasized that a deal with the U.S. would be preferable to facing an Israeli strike in the event of negotiation failure, stressing that the region cannot afford further escalations—particularly following the conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon, according to Reuters.
His visit marked the first by a senior member of the Saudi royal family to Iran in over two decades, signifying an effort to preserve peace following the normalization of relations brokered by China in 2023.
