Mass protests by hundreds of thousands of citizens in Serbia, led by students, are continuing.
Now, it seems that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, has another plan, but it is not exactly peaceful.
He plans to send about 500 Serbs from Kosovo to Belgrade on March 12, with the goal of protecting him from the massive protests that have been announced, a task which is normally entrusted to the police.
This alarm has been raised by several organizations representing Serbs in Kosovo through a public letter.
Tents have already started to be set up in front of the Serbian Presidency building, where they will be stationed with the mission to protect Aleksandar Vučić.
They will be tasked with confronting the protesters for at least 25 days, and for this work, they will be rewarded with food and drinks, as well as a daily wage.
An important role in this task, which Vučić no longer trusts to the police, is also being played by the Serbian party in Kosovo, the Serbian List.
They have been tasked with organizing the Serbs of Kosovo to face the protesters from Serbia.
This party, led by Vučić, is known for its ties to crime and even terrorist attacks.
It was the vice president of this party, Milan Radoičić, who in September 2023, with a group of armed men using heavy weaponry from the Serbian army, attacked northern Kosovo and killed a police officer.
He continues to roam freely in Serbia, under the protection of the president of the country, Aleksandar Vučić.
