Igor Popović, a senior Serbian official, is suspected of using encrypted communications and collaborating with high-ranking officials of Serbia’s Intelligence Agency (BIA) to help hide individuals wanted for war crimes in Kosovo.
Popović maintained direct contact with Bojan Dimić and Petar Petković, using sensitive data for political purposes and blackmail.
One conversation from 2023, between Popović and Bojan Dimić — a director at Serbia’s intelligence service BIA — reveals how they were monitoring the movements of Čedomir Aksić.
In 2024, Aksić was sentenced by courts in Kosovo to 15 years in prison for the Račak Massacre. The messages published by RTVDukagjini show the careful coordination to keep him hidden, with close collaboration between Popović and Dimić.
In May 2025, Popović communicated with Petar Petković about the criminal activities of a man named Kompirović, who had previously served a sentence in Serbia for heroin trafficking and murder.
According to the messages obtained by Dukagjini, the information was collected by Dimić and used for blackmail and control over Serbs living in northern Kosovo.
In another exchange, Popović talks about Ranko Vlahović, who is on Kosovo’s wanted list for war crimes.
The messages show that they were gathering information about his location and other suspects like Sladjan Trajković, in full coordination with Serbian intelligence structures.
These communications reveal a tight network of collaboration between Serbian officials and BIA chiefs, where information about the criminal pasts of suspects was exploited for political manipulation and obstruction of justice.
