In his final moments as Chancellor, Olaf Scholz hosted Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in Berlin, where they discussed the ongoing Kosovo-Serbia dialogue and the broader situation in the region. Scholz stressed the importance of fostering good neighborly relations among all states in the Balkans, particularly between Kosovo and Serbia.

During the press conference, Scholz emphasized that Germany would continue to support the normalization of relations between the two countries and would maintain this effort in the future. For him personally, the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue remains a matter of high priority.

“It is important that all countries in the region maintain good neighborly relations. This is especially true for Kosovo and Serbia. We will continue to help facilitate the normalization of these relations, and we will keep doing so in the future. Personally, this issue holds great priority for me. There are agreements that have been reached, and I hope to see them implemented step by step. You are familiar with the Ohrid Agreement,” Scholz stated.
