Second Lieutenant Vesa Ibrahimi of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) has made history by becoming the first international woman to successfully complete the elite U.S. Army Ranger School.

This highly demanding course is one of the toughest in the U.S. military, known for its extreme physical, mental, and emotional challenges, setting some of the highest standards for military leadership and endurance.

The training is divided into three intense phases:

Darby Phase (focused on physical and small-unit tactics)

Mountain Phase (conducted in rugged terrain with simulated combat stress)

Swamp Phase (emphasizing jungle warfare and survival in harsh swamp conditions)

Participants face sleep deprivation, harsh terrain, minimal logistical support, and high-pressure leadership scenarios — all aimed at building resilient and capable combat leaders.

Out of 148 graduates from this cycle, only 3 were women, including Lt. Ibrahimi, who now joins an elite group of soldiers certified to lead complex operations in any terrain, climate, or combat situation.

Her achievement marks a major milestone not only for Kosovo but also for women in international military service, setting an inspiring example for future generations.
