The ongoing political deadlock in Kosovo has deepened further as the 25th attempt to constitute the new Assembly failed once again. Despite the presence of 104 Members of Parliament, the necessary support to proceed with a secret ballot vote was not achieved.

Only 51 MPs, all from Lëvizja Vetëvendosje (LVV), voted in favor of forming the commission required for the secret ballot process. One MP voted against, and no abstentions were recorded.

The opposition parties once again refused to back the proposal, prolonging the institutional gridlock that has persisted since the February 9 elections.

Session Postponed — Again

Session chair Avni Dehari officially halted proceedings, announcing that the Assembly would reconvene in 48 hours, setting the next attempt for Wednesday, June 4 at 11:00 AM.

“The session is adjourned. See you again on June 4 at 11:00,” said Dehari, echoing the now-familiar phrase that has come to symbolize political stagnation.

What’s at Stake?

The failure to constitute the Assembly prevents the full formation of government structures and leaves Kosovo operating under a caretaker administration. With no resolution in sight, the political crisis continues to frustrate both citizens and international observers, raising concerns over democratic functionality and governance.
