Passengers Can Now Check-in and Drop Luggage Themselves via New Kiosks
Pristina International Airport (PRN) has officially launched the Self Check-in service, enhancing the passenger experience and streamlining the check-in process. After the addition of four additional gates and expanded space for processing travelers, the airport now offers the innovative self-service check-in and baggage drop system.
Since August, Pristina Airport has introduced Self Check-in kiosks that allow passengers to check in for flights and drop off their luggage independently. This technology is designed to simplify pre-flight procedures and reduce waiting times for passengers.
Self Check-in Kiosks and Baggage Drop System
Currently, the airport is equipped with six Self Check-in kiosks and ten Self Bag Drop stations. These automated services are part of a broader effort to improve airport efficiency and provide passengers with a faster, more convenient travel experience.
The system is currently available to passengers flying with several airlines, including Wizz Air, EasyJet, Eurowings, Chair, GP Aviation, Pegasus Airlines, TUI Fly, Trade Air, Austrian Airlines, SunExpress, and Enter Air, among others.
How to Use the Self Check-in System
Passengers wishing to use the Self Check-in kiosks must adhere to the flight schedule. They can start the check-in process 3 hours before the scheduled departure time and must complete it 40 minutes before departure.
Required Documents for Self Check-in:
To use the Self Check-in kiosks, passengers must have a passport. National IDs are not currently supported by the kiosks for check-in procedures. However, passengers who have completed online check-in with an ID card are allowed to use their ID to print their boarding passes at the Self Check-in kiosks.
Since the launch of the Self Check-in system in August, over 26,000 passengers have used the kiosks, and more than 15,000 bags have been processed through the Bag Drop stations.
Future Developments: Biometric Self Check-in
As part of an ongoing modernization effort, the airport plans to further improve the check-in process by installing biometric technology. This will allow for even faster and more secure processing for passengers.
