The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) candidate for Mayor of Prizren, Driton Selmanaj, has pledged to step down from politics if he does not fulfill the promises made during his campaign.

Speaking on the show DPT te Fidani, Selmanaj outlined his goals and priorities should he be elected to lead the municipality of Prizren. However, he also expressed concern over the deepening mistrust in society.

“We’ve reached a point where we no longer trust one another—not even family members, brothers, or sisters, let alone political parties. We’ve cultivated a particular kind of hypocrisy that I hope will end. We must begin to love and respect one another again,” Selmanaj said on Klan Kosova.

He emphasized that his commitment to voters is genuine and non-negotiable.

“I have no alternative. I’m telling the people—hold me to my word. If I don’t keep my promises, believe me, I am prepared to step down mid-mandate, apologize for the false hopes I may have given, and walk away from politics,” he declared.
