A Serbian citizen from the municipality of Zvečan, Nemanja Milković, has been identified as one of the volunteer fighters participating in the war in Ukraine, fighting alongside Russian forces, Rks News reports.

The 30-year-old Milković has been living in Russia for over five years and is currently an active member of the so-called “Z” military formations associated with Moscow’s operations on Ukrainian territory. He resides in the outskirts of Sochi, together with his wife and child.

Through social media specifically on his Instagram profile he has posted various images showing himself armed and dressed in military uniform, thereby confirming his involvement on the front lines.

International security sources have indicated that this is not an isolated case, as citizens from the Balkans have previously been involved in foreign conflicts. This phenomenon remains a sensitive issue for regional security authorities, as participation in foreign wars is prohibited by law in both Kosovo and Serbia.

In this regard, the relevant services are actively monitoring and investigating any potential involvement to prevent recruitment and foreign influence in international conflicts.
