Ivan Ninić, the lawyer of Milan Vukašinović—a Serb from Kosovo who was shot and later abducted by Serbian gendarmerie forces last Saturday in the village of Jelakce, Leposaviq—has filed a criminal complaint against members of the Serbian Army, police, or Milan Radoičić’s paramilitary group.
The complaint, submitted to the High Public Prosecutor’s Office in Prokuplje, accuses unknown perpetrators of attempted aggravated murder of Vukašinović.
“Since for five days no official statement has been issued about the fate of Milan Vukašinović, on behalf of his mother I have filed a criminal complaint for attempted aggravated murder against unknown individuals — members of the Serbian Army, police, or the group of Milan Radoičić,”
Ninić wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Vukašinović was reportedly shot and kidnapped by Serbian gendarmerie members inside Kosovo’s territory, near the so-called “zero point” on the Kosovo–Serbia border. Kosovo Police immediately informed KFOR, which is responsible for security in the border zone.
This case has raised serious questions about Serbia’s conduct in northern Kosovo and the role of Milan Radoičić, a known nationalist figure under U.S. and U.K. sanctions and widely believed to operate with President Aleksandar Vučić’s protection.
The incident underscores once again Belgrade’s aggressive interference in Kosovo’s sovereignty and the growing impunity of paramilitary groups linked to Radoičić — whose recent actions continue to destabilize peace and security in the region.
