Serb List Executes Political Clean-Out in Northern Municipalities

Serb List wasted no time tightening its grip over the northern municipalities. Only a day after taking office, the newly installed mayors dismissed every single politically appointed director, clearing out the institutions in one sweeping move that shows the party’s obsession with total control.

According to their statement, reported by Kossev, the mayors of North Mitrovica (Milan Radojević), Zvečan (Dragiša Milović), Zubin Potok (Miloš Perović), and Leposavić (Zoran Todić) removed all directors at once—without transparency, without justification, and without any respect for institutional continuity. This is exactly the kind of behavior that has kept the municipalities isolated, dysfunctional, and trapped under party dominance for years.

Serb List now plans to install new directors “in the coming days,” which in practice means more loyalists and deeper political control over public offices that should exist for citizens, not for one party’s power games.

Today’s visit by the head of the EU Office, Aivo Orav, happened as all this unfolded—another moment where institutions in the north risk being treated like party branches rather than municipal administrations.
