Igor Simić, MP and deputy leader of the Serb List, announced that the party will appeal the decision to elect Nenad Rašić as Deputy Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly, arguing that it violates both the Constitution of Kosovo and a prior ruling by the Kosovo Constitutional Court.
Simić stated that Rašić was not elected by the Serb community and described him as “just another member of Vetëvendosje.” He added: “Rašić was forcibly included as a deputy, and now in the same way, he has been declared Deputy Speaker.”
Citing the Constitutional Court ruling, Simić emphasized that the winner of the Serb community vote has the exclusive right to propose a candidate for Deputy Speaker from the Serb community, which, according to him, should be the Serb List. Since Rašić was not proposed by the Serb List, his election as Deputy Speaker constitutes a violation of the Court’s decision.
