On Friday, February 28, Jelena Gjukanović was arrested in the Mitrovica region.

She is suspected of carrying out espionage activities for the Serbian Intelligence Agency (BIA). Today, she was assigned a one-month pretrial detention.

Media reports have indicated that Gjukanović was an employee of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

In response to this case, the OSCE Mission in Kosovo has issued a statement.

The OSCE stated that it is aware of the reports based on media coverage and has been in contact with their legal representative.

Furthermore, the statement emphasized that the mission cannot comment further on the matter due to ongoing investigations, but reiterated its commitment to cooperate with the relevant authorities.

“The mission is in contact with both the relevant institutions and the OSCE Secretariat in Vienna to ensure the proper process is followed,” the statement reads.
