Seven Serbs have reportedly been arrested during a Special Prosecution operation in northern Kosovo, according to Serbia’s so-called Office for Kosovo.

Since the early hours of Sunday morning, raids have been conducted in nine locationstwo in Zveçan and seven in Zubin Potok. The operation was carried out by investigators from the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized and Serious Crimes, under the order of the Special Prosecution of Kosovo.

According to Kallxo.com, the raids are linked to the murder of EULEX customs officer Audrius Senavicius, a Lithuanian national who was killed on September 19, 2013, when gunfire targeted two EULEX vehicles near Zveçan.

Unconfirmed reports about the identities of the arrested individuals have circulated on social media. The Office for Kosovo, headed by Petar Petković, Serbia’s chief negotiator in the Belgrade–Pristina dialogue, commented on the incident.

“In a continuation of brutal physical and legal repression against the Serbian people, Albin Kurti ordered this morning’s operation in Zubin Potok and Zveçan, during which seven of our compatriots were detained,” the statement reads.

The office also alleged door break-ins and arbitrary arrests of Serbs by the Kosovo Police, calling the operation “Kurti’s revenge” following the recent local election victories of Serbs held on October 12.
