A nationwide general strike in Serbia, initiated by students and high schoolers, has drawn significant attention from regional media, framing it as a critical challenge to the government of President Aleksandar Vučić.

Croatia’s Slobodna Dalmacija described the strike as “a new blow to Vučić’s regime,” highlighting the blockade of the Belgrade–Novi Sad highway. Marinika Tepić, vice president of the Freedom and Justice Party (SSP), stated in a video shared on X:
“We’ve blocked the highway to support students, educators, and preschool workers protesting since this morning. Everyone here stands united.”

Montenegro’s Vijesti highlighted the participation of teachers and education workers despite government warnings of pay deductions for striking employees. The Ministry of Education’s directive to schools has been criticized as a tactic to suppress the strike.
