Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has once again lashed out with accusations against his neighbors, declaring that Kosovo and Albania pose a threat to Serbia. His statements came after an urgent meeting of the National Security Council, where Vučić also criticized the U.S. operation to capture his close ally, Nicolás Maduro, in Venezuela.
“The world order has collapsed!” Vučić said, adding that the law of force and the law of the strongest now dominate the world, while “international order” and the UN Charter are not being enforced. He warned that Serbia faces a particular threat from the “arming of Pristina” and the newly formed cooperation with Tirana and Zagreb, including the development of complex military systems, from four-by-four vehicles to the most powerful weapons.
The Serbian president added that Serbia is closely monitoring the situation and preparing to defend itself against “those who, not secretly, but openly threaten our country.” “We believe that our strength will be a sufficient deterrent,” Vučić said.
