Belgrade, Serbia — In response to the recent terrorist attacks in Kosovo, Advocate and politician Čedomir Stojković, a long-time opponent of President Aleksandar Vučić’s policies, posted a powerful message on X (formerly Twitter). Stojković sharply criticized Vučić’s administration for allowing terrorists to operate freely in Serbia, indirectly supporting terrorism through inaction and obstruction of justice. Stojković’s post pointed to several troubling facts that, according to him, demonstrate Serbia’s role in perpetuating terrorism in the region:

  • Milan Radojičić, a known organizer of paramilitary forces in Kosovo, has been allowed to remain free in Serbia despite his involvement in the violent activities in Kosovo. Stojković pointed out that Vučić has blocked the arrest of Radojičić, leaving him unaccountable for his actions.
  • Nemanja Radivojević, an associate of Radojičić, is suspected of recently throwing grenades at a police station in Kosovo. However, he has yet to be arrested or prosecuted by Serbian authorities.
  • There has been no cooperation between Serbia’s security services and Kosovo’s in combating terrorism. Despite the ongoing violence, no joint efforts have been made to prevent further attacks or to track down those responsible.
  • Those who carry out acts of violence in Kosovo often find refuge in Serbia, where they remain free from legal consequences.

Stojković’s statements emphasize that Serbia cannot claim to be distancing itself from terrorism if it continues to harbor and protect those responsible for terrorist acts. He drew a parallel to Afghanistan, where Al-Qaeda operatives found refuge under the Taliban. According to Stojković, just as Afghanistan would be responsible for harboring terrorists, so too is Serbia complicit in terrorism by failing to arrest and prosecute those involved in violence.

For terrorism to be properly condemned, there must be arrests, trials, extraditions, and imprisonment of the perpetrators,” Stojković wrote. “Only when the Serbian regime takes action, arrests these individuals, and prosecutes them, can they truly claim they have no ties to terrorism.”

He also warned that Serbia is dangerously close to being labeled as a “state that supports terrorism”, following two major terrorist attacks in 2023 and 2024, during which no arrests have been made.

Stojković called on President Vučić and Serbian authorities to take immediate action, demanding the arrest of those responsible for the attacks. He further stated that failure to act would only encourage more terrorist activities and further isolate Serbia internationally.

In conclusion, Stojković urged the Serbian government to demonstrate its commitment to fighting terrorism by arresting and prosecuting terrorists. He cautioned that inaction would lead to Serbia’s growing international isolation and the perception that the country supports terrorism.
