Belgrade-based media report that excavations will begin tomorrow in Serbia to search for possible remains of Albanians killed during the Kosovo war (1998–1999).
The Serbian Government Commission on Missing Persons confirmed that the search will take place at the “Golo Brdo” landfill site, located between Novi Pazar and Tutin, amid suspicions that human remains may be buried there.
The excavations are being carried out under the order of the Serbian Prosecutor’s Office.
According to Beta news agency, this location was identified following a request from the Kosovo delegation, which Belgrade agreed to during a meeting of the Working Group on Missing Persons.
The issue of missing persons remains one of the most sensitive topics in Kosovo-Serbia relations, with thousands of families still waiting for answers more than two decades after the conflict.
