About 30 minutes ago, Serbian high school graduates in northern Mitrovica provoked tensions by making the three-finger salute, a gesture often seen as provocative in the region.

Veton Elshani from the Kosovo Police confirmed to KosovaPress that the police intervened to prevent any possible escalation of the situation.

“During the graduation celebration, there were provocations, and to prevent escalation, the police responded,” said Elshani.

The situation has since calmed down, and the graduates were able to continue their celebrations without further police intervention, he added.
