A serious incident occurred on Wednesday morning outside the Serbian Parliament, where gunfire erupted in a pro-government tent camp, followed by a fire that left one person injured and another arrested.
Vojin Radovanović, a journalist for the newspaper Danas, reported for Euronews Albania that the event took place around 10:00 a.m., with police and firefighters quickly arriving at the scene.
“At this moment, there are many firefighters, a heavy police presence, and numerous citizens trying to see what happened. Gunshots were also heard. From unofficial sources, we know that one person was wounded in the leg and another was arrested,” said Radovanović.
He added that the only official information so far is that President Aleksandar Vučić is expected to deliver a speech following the incident – a move many view as an attempt to politically exploit the situation.
According to the journalist, the incident was not coincidental but “a clear provocation against students and opposition protesters” who have been demonstrating for days against Vučić’s regime.
“This episode is a provocation meant to discredit student and opposition protests. It is expected that pro-government groups will now mobilize to create tensions and shift the public narrative,” Radovanović emphasized.
He warned that the event could take on broader political dimensions, as Vučić’s regime is likely to use it to tighten control over public opinion and justify repression against critics.
