The leader of the Democratic Party in Serbia, Srgjan Milivojević, told N1 television that Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas’ refusal to be photographed with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić during her visit to Belgrade is a clear political message from the European Union, Rks News reports.
According to Milivojević, this gesture shows that “the EU no longer perceives Vučić as a European” and that “he can no longer pretend to wear a European mask while still donning the uniform of a radical.”
He recalled Vučić’s past statements from the time he was part of Slobodan Milošević’s regime, emphasizing that Vučić “hasn’t shifted a single millimeter from those positions.”
During a meeting with the Serbian opposition in Belgrade, Milivojević said Kallas didn’t speak much, but she listened attentively to their concerns about the situation in Serbia. He added that she showed particular interest in Serbia’s internal developments, which, according to her, pose a greater threat to regional stability than the Belgrade-Pristina relations.
