A serious traffic accident occurred on the Lezhë–Shkodër highway near the village of Fishtë on Monday.
According to initial reports, a vehicle collided with a truck bearing Serbian license plates, causing the car to veer off the road and crash into a roadside canal.
Tragically, a woman in her 60s lost her life in the incident. Four other individuals sustained injuries, including a child. One of the injured has been transferred to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana due to the severity of their condition.
Local residents and police worked together at the scene to extract the victims from the canal. Emergency medical services from Lezha, Shkodra, and Vau i Dejës responded promptly to assist those injured.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
