Arena Channels, a media group owned by the Serbian state-controlled operator Telekom Srbija, has formally entered the Albanian media market with the establishment of Arena News Channels Two Albania. The company was officially registered on Thursday at the National Business Center, marking a significant development in the regional media landscape.

According to the official business extract, the newly established entity will engage in the production, broadcasting, and distribution of audiovisual content across television, online platforms, digital channels, and social media. The company’s scope also includes the publication and management of electronic media and online news outlets.

Documents list the company’s registered address as Dervish Shaba Street, Block B-1, the same location where Adria Med Television and several other businesses owned by entrepreneur Enver Mehmeti operate. However, Mehmeti has clarified that the Serbian company is not connected to his television station.

Arena News Channel Two Doo was originally founded on March 13, 2009, by Goran Đaković under the name Telecommunications Company HD-WIN doo. On May 22, 2019, it was acquired by Telekom Srbija AD, placing the company under indirect ownership of the Serbian government.

Today, Arena Channel Group holds the broadcasting rights for key sports channels across Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Croatia. The group is also the official license holder of Euronews Serbia, further expanding its media influence in the region.

The company’s entrance into Albania comes at a time of notable shifts in the country’s media market. Two weeks ago, Kapitali reported that the Dulaku family sold the Tring platform to a company affiliated with Kosovo’s Devolli Group. Meanwhile, ongoing speculation surrounding a potential sale of Digitalb has yet to materialize.

The arrival of a Serbian state-linked media group in Albania is expected to draw attention from media analysts and regulatory bodies, given the increasing consolidation and geopolitical interests shaping the regional media environment.
