The Serbian Tax Administration, which had been operating illegally in North Mitrovica, was shut down today by Kosovo authorities, while the police seized documentation and opened a case for document forgery.
According to Veton Elshani, Deputy Commander of the Police for the North region, the economic crime unit intervened at the location where the parallel Serbian institution was functioning.
At the scene, alongside the police officers from the economic crime unit, members of EULEX were also present.
A part of the staff has already left the premises, taking their personal belongings with them.
“This is a parallel institution. We have seized the documentation and have opened a case for document forgery,” Elshani stated.
