Ongoing mass protests in Serbia prompted President Aleksandar Vučić to convene the National Security Council, with Kosovo and regional developments high on the agenda.

The meeting, chaired by Vučić, was attended by Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabić, Prime Minister Djuro Macut, the Minister of Defense, the head of Serbia’s intelligence services, the Minister of Internal Affairs, as well as senior police and judicial officials.

Discussions focused on the situation in Kosovo, as well as recent developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republika Srpska entity.

Journalist Ardita Behluli reported that unlike previous sessions, there was no detailed public statement from the Serbian president. Instead, Vučić only posted a brief message: “I have dedicated my life to Serbia, and together we will overcome this evil.”

Serbian police later confirmed that the agenda included:

  • Domestic security concerns
  • The situation in Kosovo
  • Regional developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska

Behluli noted that the absence of a full public report was unusual, saying this reflects a shift in tone:

“Things appear to be becoming more aggressive, compared to previous protests,” she said during Klan Kosova’s Special Edition program.
