Veton Elshani, Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police for the North, informed Gazeta Express that a protest by Serbs is scheduled for tomorrow in the northern part of Kosovo.

Elshani stated that the protest is expected to be peaceful. According to him, the reason for the protest, as stated by the organizers, is the “difficult situation of Serbs in Kosovo.” He also mentioned that there will be sufficient police presence to ensure everything remains under control.

“A group of citizens in the north has announced a protest for tomorrow at 11:00 AM, in the area where protests are usually held at Car Lazar Square. There will be enough police officers to maintain security. The protest is expected to be peaceful,” Elshani said.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić declared that Albanians would gather in the south, referring to a call made by Agim Bahtiri for a “grand gathering.”

Vučić even called on KFOR to protect the Serbs.

However, Elshani refuted this, stating that no such gathering of Albanians in the south has been announced.

“There is no notification of such a gathering in the south,” Elshani said.
