The Central Election Commission (KQZ) confirmed that five members of the Municipal Election Commission in Ferizaj were involved in a traffic accident on Friday evening around 18:17, while performing their official duties.
According to KQZ, four of the five officials are in critical condition and are receiving treatment at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK). The Commission advised media and citizens to contact the relevant health authorities for further details.
“They were fully committed to completing the electoral process in Ferizaj municipality, which took place on October 12 across the country,” the statement read.
KQZ expressed deep concern over the incident and conveyed its wishes for the swift recovery of the injured, offering support to the Commission members and their families.
The incident has raised concerns regarding the safety conditions for election officials working in the field, especially during intensive electoral periods.
