Severe Weather Hits the UK, Hundreds of Flights Canceled – Power Outages Across the Region

The United Kingdom has been struck by severe weather as authorities remain on high alert due to Storm Eowyn. Nearly 4.5 million people have been advised to take precautions and stay cautious.

In the early hours of the morning, around 560,000 buildings in Ireland were reported to be without power, a number that is expected to rise as the hours pass, though it is unclear when the outages will be resolved.

The bad weather initially hit the western coast of Ireland with winds reaching 135 km/h, setting a new record in the country’s meteorological history.

Hundreds of flights have been canceled at airports in Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Dublin.

According to Sky News, a total of 334 flights from Aberdeen, Belfast, Edinburgh, and Glasgow have been canceled, affecting approximately 50,000 passengers.

The authorities’ warning has caused significant concern among residents in the affected areas.
