Albulena Haxhiu, Kosovo’s Acting Minister of Justice, has convened a meeting with representatives of the Police, Judiciary, and Prosecution to address allegations of sexual harassment in the northern regions of Kosovo.

During the meeting, Haxhiu emphasized the importance of reporting any incidents of harassment, calling on victims and witnesses to reach out to the appropriate institutions. She underscored that every report—regardless of the victim’s ethnicity or location—will be treated professionally and seriously.

We are committed to creating and maintaining a safe environment because every person has the right to feel protected and valued, without fear of sexual harassment or abuse,” said Haxhiu.

The minister reiterated the government’s dedication to upholding justice, equality, and dignity, stating:

These are non-negotiable values. Together, we can build a society that respects every individual and where sexual harassment has no place.

The initiative comes amid rising concerns over the safety of residents in the north, where tensions and institutional mistrust have complicated law enforcement efforts.
