Three people were injured in the early hours of Saturday following a shooting at Times Square, one of New York’s most popular tourist destinations.
Police confirmed the incident occurred around 1:20 AM, and one person has been arrested and is currently being questioned in connection with the event.
According to The New York Times, the victims include a 19-year-old and a 65-year-old who were shot in the legs, as well as an 18-year-old female who was hit in the neck. Authorities stated that none of the injuries are life-threatening.
The incident comes at a time when the New York mayoral race is reaching its peak, with crime control remaining one of the hottest campaign issues.
