Igor Simiq, a Member of the Assembly of Kosovo and a member of the presidency of the Serbian List, has confirmed that he will be questioned in a hearing by the Special Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kosovo.

This is in the capacity of a suspect for “violating the constitutional order of the state, and other criminal offenses related to protests and the erection of barricades by Serbs in December 2022, in Zvečan and other northern parts of the country.”

Simiq stated in a media statement that he will attend the questioning by the Special Prosecutor’s Office because he claims that neither he nor his fellow party members did anything illegal when they gave support and, according to investigations, organized the placement of barricades in the north.

Besides Simiq, the Special Prosecutor’s Office is also investigating the current head of the Serbian List, Zllatan Ellek, former head Goran Rakiq, along with more than 45 others for criminal offenses including obstruction of an official person in performing official duties, calls for resistance, and association for unconstitutional activities.

Meanwhile, the Basic Court in Prishtina on Wednesday approved the Special Prosecutor’s request for issuing domestic and international arrest warrants for Milan Radojičić.
