Ardita Sinani, the Mayor of Preševo, has accused Serbian security authorities and Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin of creating a “blacklist” of individuals deemed undesirable by the Serbian government.
In her statement, Sinani highlighted that every time she crosses the border between Kosovo and Serbia, she is stopped without any justifiable reason, sometimes for up to an hour. According to Sinani, this is not a coincidence but a coordinated campaign to intimidate critics and those fighting for the rights of Albanians.
Full Statement:
Ongoing Discrimination at the Border and Persecution from Vulin’s List
As a representative of Albanians in Preševo and as the Mayor of Preševo, every time I cross the border, I am stopped and detained without any justifiable reason, sometimes for up to an hour. This treatment is unacceptable and is a clear form of pressure and discrimination.
Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin of Serbia has openly admitted to creating a “blacklist” of individuals considered undesirable by the Serbian government. This non-public list is believed to include names of those who oppose government policies, especially concerning ethnic minorities and political dissenters.
It is clear that this is not a coincidence but an orchestrated persecution closely related to Vulin’s notorious list, targeting those who are undesirable to him and bold voices defending the rights of Albanians.
This list is designed to intimidate and silence those who dare to defend Albanian rights.
However, no form of pressure or persecution will stop me from continuing my work for the rights and dignity of my people. This is a battle for all of us, and I am more determined than ever to continue.
