Border Police checks at entry and exit points of the Republic of Albania, specifically at Rinas International Airport, led to the interception of six attempts at illegal border crossing and one case of smuggling.

As a result of the inspections, six Chinese nationals were arrested in flagrante delicto, suspected of using forged documents. Those arrested include M. B., 29; X. Zh., 66; Zh. W., 52; H. J., 45; W. Zh., 38; and G. H., 43. They are charged with the criminal offense of “Forgery of passports, identity cards, or visas, committed in collaboration.”

During the inspection, the individuals presented Hong Kong passports that Border Police suspected were forged. Laboratory analysis confirmed the documents were counterfeit, leading to the seizure of all six passports.

In a separate incident at the country’s entry point, a Belarusian citizen, A. W., 45, traveling from Treviso to Tirana, was stopped for further inspection due to suspicions regarding her travel intentions. During the physical inspection and luggage check, cosmetic goods such as botox and fillers were discovered and seized. These items require special transport conditions and specific possession and usage licenses, which she did not have.

The Belarusian national was arrested in flagrante delicto for the offenses of “Smuggling of prohibited goods” and “Smuggling of licensed goods.”
