Six of Seven Major Municipalities Head to Runoff, Tight Race in Prishtina and Mitrovica

From the seven largest municipalities in Kosovo, six will go to a runoff as no candidate managed to secure more than 50% of the votes in the first round.

The municipalities heading to the second round are: Prishtina, Prizren, Peja, Gjilani, Mitrovica, and Gjakova, while Ferizaj has elected its mayor in the first round, reports Reporteri.net.

Prishtina

Përparim Rama (LDK) and Hajrulla Çeku (LVV) will face off in the runoff. From 98.88% of counted votes:

  • Rama: 33.76% / 34,752 votes
  • Çeku: 33.05% / 34,022 votes

Prizren

Shaqir Totaj (PDK) vs Artan Abrashi (LVV). From 94.92% of votes counted:

  • Totaj: 41.99% / 24,281 votes
  • Abrashi: 29.80% / 17,231 votes

Peja

Gazmend Muhaxheri (LDK) vs Taulant Kelmendi (LVV). From 100% of votes counted:

  • Muhaxheri: 46.11% / 19,035 votes
  • Kelmendi: 27.88% / 11,508 votes

Mitrovica

Arian Tahiri (PDK) vs Faton Peci (LVV). From 100% of votes counted:

  • Tahiri: 47.89% / 15,368 votes
  • Peci: 47.80% / 15,340 votes

Difference: only 28 votes

Gjilani

Alban Hyseni (LVV) vs Arbër Ismajli (LDK). From 100% of votes counted:

  • Hyseni: 49.79% / 21,463 votes
  • Ismajli: 34.24% / 14,761 votes

Gjakova

Ardian Gjini (AAK) vs Ardian Gola (LVV). From 100% of votes counted:

  • Gjini: 47.74% / 18,893 votes
  • Gola: 32.82% / 12,989 votes

Ferizaj

The only major municipality not going to a runoff. From 95.45% of votes counted:

  • Agim Aliu (PDK): 56.74% / 27,720 votes

Note: These results do not include diaspora votes, which may impact outcomes in some municipalities.
