Prishtina, July 16, 2025 – The arrest of Bojan Jevtiq, a lieutenant in the Kosovo Police suspected of spying for Serbia’s intelligence agency BIA, has been described as one of the most significant counterintelligence successes in Kosovo’s recent history.
Security expert Agim Musliu praised the operation, emphasizing it as a direct result of the coordination and commitment between the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (AKI) and other national security institutions.
“The Jevtiq case is a testament to the coordination between AKI and other security agencies,” Musliu wrote on Facebook. “This is one of the most serious, but also most successful, counterintelligence operations to date.”
According to Musliu, the months-long investigation—led by AKI and the Special Prosecution—uncovered covert networks operating within Kosovo’s own security structures.
During Jevtiq’s arrest, authorities also discovered documents from the International Police Association (IPA)—an organization in which Serbia and Russia are members, but not Kosovo. This finding raises additional concerns about parallel communication networks operating outside official channels.
“The involvement of a police official in this case underscores the urgent need for greater institutional vigilance to prevent the leakage of sensitive information,” Musliu added.
Jevtiq is the sixth person arrested in recent months under suspicion of espionage or collaboration with hostile intelligence services, amid growing concerns over Serbia’s hybrid warfare strategy targeting Kosovo’s state institutions.
