Slovenia’s National Assembly has officially approved a law that recognizes driver’s licenses issued by the Republic of Kosovo, marking a significant step forward for freedom of movement and the rights of Kosovo citizens abroad.

The announcement was made by the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Donika Gërvalla, who confirmed the development through a post on Facebook.

“Today, the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia approved the law recognizing the driver’s licenses of the Republic of Kosovo. Good news for our citizens and the diaspora in Slovenia. Congratulations!” Gërvalla wrote.

This decision is expected to greatly facilitate the daily life of Kosovo citizens living or working in Slovenia, removing bureaucratic barriers and supporting integration within the host country’s legal and administrative systems.
