The head coach of Slovenia’s national football team, Matjaž Kek, spoke one day before the much-anticipated clash with Kosovo.

Kosovo and Slovenia will face each other tomorrow evening at Fadil Vokrri Stadium in Pristina as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Kek expects a physically demanding match with many duels, emphasizing that his team must remain fully focused to avoid unpleasant surprises.

“This will be a match with a lot of duels and aggression. We know that Kosovo needs points and will play with great motivation. We must be careful and show the right level, otherwise the punishment comes quickly,” said Kek.

He also highlighted the development of his squad, noting that some players missed the European Championship, but those currently with the team have proven their worth.

“Football will continue even after these matches. We have a group that is evolving; some missed the Euros, but those here have shown they deserve it. If we play carefully and with dedication, we can achieve a positive result,” the Slovenian coach added.
