A 43-year-old trader suspected of smuggling clothing from Albania into Kosovo has been referred for criminal proceedings in Kukës.
The Morinë Border Police uncovered the case while intensifying checks along the green belt following operational information on illegal activities.
Acting on this intelligence, authorities stopped a vehicle driven by V.D. on the road connecting the villages of Pogaj and Gorozhub, along the Albania-Kosovo border.
“During the vehicle inspection, several bags containing various clothing items were discovered, which the individual was attempting to smuggle into Kosovo. The goods and the vehicle were seized as material evidence. The case was referred to the Prosecutor’s Office, initiating criminal proceedings against V.D., 43, resident of Kukës, for the offenses of ‘smuggling goods’ and ‘concealment of income,’” the local police reported.
Procedural materials have been submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office of the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Kukës for further action.
