The Kosovo Police, in cooperation with Customs, have prevented two separate smuggling attempts through intensified tactical and operational controls along border areas.
The first case occurred near the North Macedonia–Kosovo border, where the Task Force – East, together with Customs, stopped a vehicle with local license plates.
During the inspection, smuggled goods were discovered, including textiles, electronic devices, sportswear, and jewelry, valued at over €2,000, without proper documentation. The vehicle and goods were taken to the customs terminal, and appropriate measures are being taken against the suspect, a Kosovar male.
The second case took place in Lisock, Kamenica, where police units from DRPK-East SPMK–Muqivërcë stopped another vehicle with local plates attempting to smuggle 1,500 kg of peppers from Serbia.
The goods were confiscated and handed over to Kosovo Customs, and a criminal case has been initiated against the suspect after consultation with the on-duty prosecutor.
