Shqipe Mehmeti Selimi, member of parliament, together with her son Ares, attended the official presentation of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK) veteran’s uniform, a project conceived and realized by UÇK veteran and commander Ferid Berisha from Skopje.
During the event, participants honored the memory of fallen martyrs who sacrificed their lives for freedom, recalling their contributions to the nation’s liberation.
The ceremony culminated in an emotional moment, when Ares formally accepted the veteran’s uniform on behalf of his father, Rexhep Selimi, who is currently being held in The Hague.
“Among comrades, we evoked memories of the fallen martyrs, of those who gave everything for freedom. In conclusion, with great emotion, our son Ares accepted the veteran’s uniform on behalf of Rexha. Our war was difficult, but it was just and glorious, and we live and work to honor it,” wrote Mehmeti-Selimi.
