The EU Special Envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Peter Sorensen, met with Kathryne Bomberger, the Executive Director of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), in The Hague to discuss ongoing efforts in DNA analysis and the search for missing persons.

Sorensen described the meeting as highly productive, praising ICMP’s advanced DNA identification techniques as crucial for resolving cases of missing persons and bringing closure to families still seeking justice.

“An insightful meeting today with @KatBomberger at @TheICMP in The Hague. I gained valuable insights into their cutting-edge DNA work, which is essential in addressing missing persons cases,” Sorensen stated on social media platform X.

The identification of missing persons remains a critical issue in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, with families of victims and human rights organizations pushing for faster progress.
