The European Union’s Special Representative for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Peter Sorensen, stated that his goal is to move the dialogue process forward.

Speaking to the media after his meeting with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Sorensen called it a good start.

“It was an introductory meeting, and we discussed how the process can continue and move forward, and as such, it was a good start. Our goal is for the process to continue and move forward,” Sorensen said.

He also emphasized that after Kosovo, he would be going to Belgrade. When asked by reporters whether there could be compromises, he said that this is decided by the parties involved.

“The purpose of the dialogue is to reach an agreement, and compromises will be determined by the parties. This is the dialogue, and we have been doing this since 2011,” Sorensen added.

The EU envoy was also asked about the closure of Serbian institutions in Kosovo, specifically social work centers and post offices.

He stated that work needs to be done to ensure that people are provided with good services.

“We must work to ensure that people are served in the best possible way, and this is something we will try to do,” Sorensen expressed.
