At least 14 people have died due to floods and landslides in South Korea caused by several days of heavy rainfall.
According to the BBC, 12 more people are reported missing, and authorities warn the death toll may rise as search and rescue operations continue in the hardest-hit areas.
Around 10,000 residents have been evacuated from their homes due to the danger, while over 41,000 households remain without electricity. Rainfall has eased in the south and central regions, but further showers are expected in Seoul and the northern areas.
Significant damage has been reported to roads, buildings, and farmland. In the southern county of Sancheong, six people have been confirmed dead and seven are missing.
Two deaths were recorded in Gapyeong, where a landslide engulfed several homes, leaving four others missing. Fatalities have also been reported in northern regions near Seoul and other western areas.
