South Korea has concluded negotiations with the United States for the release of Korean workers who were detained in Georgia, a presidential office official confirmed on Sunday.

According to Kang Hun-sik, Chief of Staff of the South Korean Presidency, a plane will be dispatched to bring the workers back once administrative procedures are completed.

The development followed a raid earlier this week at a Hyundai Motor manufacturing facility in Georgia, where U.S. federal agents conducted a major investigative operation. Most of those detained were South Korean nationals.

The incident occurred shortly after a significant trade agreement between South Korea and the U.S., which includes a $350 billion fund to support Korean companies in the American market.

It was also reported that U.S. President Donald Trump may visit South Korea in October for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting. South Korean officials stated they will explore ways to improve the visa system for Korean workers traveling to the U.S. to prevent similar incidents in the future.
