With only four days left for Albin Kurti to present his government cabinet to the Assembly, political analyst Nexhmedin Spahiu says that the formation of the government will largely depend on Fatmir Limaj’s stance.

“The chances of forming the government are neither high nor low; it now depends on Limaj’s position, as he seems unwilling to give in on his demand for the Speaker of Parliament,” Spahiu told IndeksOnline.

He noted that Kurti is more likely to form a government with NISMA, as other parties are refusing to cooperate. “Working with PDK would be political suicide for Vetëvendosje,” Spahiu added.

“Forming a government with NISMA is more plausible. AAK is refusing, and so is LDK. Partnering with PDK would be political suicide for VV,” he explained.

Spahiu further suggested that if a government is established, it could remain stable at least until the election of the President, and possibly for the entire parliamentary term.

He emphasized that the first priority of the government should be completing major highway projects, including:

  • Prishtinë–Zveçan
  • Prishtinë–Graçanicë
  • Prishtinë–Merdare
  • Prishtinë–Pejë
  • Prishtinë–Gjakovë
  • Prishtinë–Gjilan

“An efficient government could complete all these projects within six months. At the current pace, it would take more than 60 years,” Spahiu warned.

Finally, he stressed that the government should prioritize implementing agreements based on the Franco-German plan.
