The Special Anti-Corruption Prosecution Office (SPAK) has requested that the former leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, remain under house arrest.
According to Top Channel, the Special Court will commence proceedings in Berisha’s case on January 3, 2025, with a hearing scheduled for 10:00 AM.
Prosecutors argue that the conditions for lifting the house arrest of the former prime minister are not met. The objection to his release was filed at the Special Appeals Court by prosecutors Arben Kraja and Enkeleda Millonai.
The case has garnered significant public attention, reflecting the ongoing commitment of SPAK to fight corruption at the highest levels in Albania.
